    What I do...

,I'm available for hire to help finish your writing project, do copy-editing and proofreading, write copy for marketing/PR materials and manage projects that require writing, editing, blogging, social media, etc.

In 2018 I served as freelance writer/editor for Carrington Mortgage Services' national in-house newsletter.

I have mentored and coached writers of plays, novels, how-to books, screenplays, and solo performance pieces.

With umpteen years' experience as a journalist and editor, I've covered the performing arts, television, film, science, health, crime and hard news. As a columnist and feature writer, my words were published in The Dallas Times Herald, Dallas Morning News, Dallas Observer, Dallas Voice, CultureMap Dallas, Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Toledo Blade, Columbus Dispatch, Boston Herald. LA Times, Washington Post, and many others.

I started my journalism career with Hearst Magazines in NYC and ended (full-time anyway) as a columnist with Village Voice Newspapers.

    In 2006, I co-founded TheaterJones.com, a web mag covering the performing arts.

Since 2013 I have been busy as a playwright, author, and creative mentor to other writers, with occasional freelance forays back into print.

My solo show Sweater Curse: A Yarn about Love ran at Edinburgh Fringe 2013 and 2014 and toured in Texas and the Southwest. Performance rights to that play and my other plays are available. They are: Finishing School, A Ripping Christmas Carol, The Crickets' Lunch, Replaceable Blond and Copeville. I am a member of the Dramatists Guild.
